An Historic Day: MCRP’s First Marker Dedication.

Madison County’s first historical marker that commemorates racial terror lynchings was dedicated on Saturday, December 7, 2024. This event, which was held in honor of Mr. Robert Mosley, who was lynched in 1890, seeks to acknowledge our painful history while reaffirming our community’s commitment to justice and reconciliation. This event was coordinated by the Madison County Remembrance Project, the Equal Justice Initiative, and Prince Hall Masons of District 17. United Women of Color is the fiscal sponsor of the Madison County Remembrance Project.
